Grrrrr! Fed up with my Peugeot. What else could I drive?

My Peugeot 307 has given me nothing but grief since getting it 3 years ago. The AA have just towed it to the garage for the second time in as many days. I'm going to kick some bottoms on Monday morning, i can tell you.

Anyway, I want to get rid of it and get something else but don't know where to start. I want a car that's going to be reliable. I want to buy used and spend about �8k.

What do the ABers recommend? I want to steer clear of anything French.

KA Hand brake stuck on.

Rear disks on a 206, 1.1?

I cannot tell you what make of car to avoid but take a look at some of the web sites for cars you should be able to get an idea of what you want and read any comment about each car carefully. It's just really a case of looking real hard before buying.

Buy Volkswagen or their subsideries Seat and Skoda or any Japanese car especially Honda and you won't go far wrong. Hondas are renowned for their reliability. Keep clear of French or Italian. They might look good but have a reputation for poor reliabilty.

BMW 3 series. High millage is no problem, Mine has nearly 200,000 miles on the clock and it's the same engine. It starts first time, has never broken down and still looks reasonable 8K should get you a tasty one too!

After 40+ years of driving various vehicles I settled on a Honda Civic about five years ago. Last year changed to a Honda CRV.

I have never owned a more reliable vehicle. Petrol and windscreen washer fluid are the only items I have had to buy between services. Not even suffered a blown bulb.

A friend recently blew a turbo on his Honda When he called for assistance the attending AA mechanic told him this was the first Honda he had been called out to during 13 years with the AA.

Next one will be a Honda.
