Battery Problems with Puegot 406

Something is draining the battery in my Puegot 406, I can only start it in the morning if I disconnect the battery over night.

my car battery used to drain out when i didn't lock the doors properly and the light that automatically comes on when the doors are open is lit all night the best way around it is to turn it off, hope this helps.

This is often caused by a fault in the alternator, try disconnecting the big cable that goes to the alternator instead of the whole system and see what happens.

Otherwise it will take ages by trial and error, what you need is an ammeter connected in the battery cable which should show zero when everything is off, if it shows a discharge then start disconnecting things one by one until you find what is causing the problem.

using a multimeter set it to 20 v get the car running with electrics on ie heaters lights heated screen put the multimeter across the pos n neg terminals of the bat. for a alternator that is doin its job u shub be getting a readin of 13.4v - 14.4v any more or less than 13v usually pionts to an alternator fault or wiring to it
