Why is it that when you're driving, no-one says thank you when you let them out/give way?

They usually do In my experience, a wave, flash lights etc.

OK, 'no-one' may be a tad exagerated, but since I moved from south west to the south east, their seems little time for manners!

Try Throwing some zaps around!!It works wonders in my country.Or pull a gun on the dudes head!Just joking.Smom people just don't have any manners,and thats the way it is!Nothing we can do to change that.

Nearly all people do in my area of East Anglia, less so on a Sunday!

Generally, drivers in the south do acknowledge, although I must say that I do NOT particularly make a point watching them to check - much prefer to concentrate on driving. Whereever possible I always let buses out and they always say thanks. Never ever however let taxis out - so do not know if they do give thanks but with theit manners doubt it very much.

I drive many different cars and it definatley affects others peoples reactions.

I drive a van, yes a big white one, and most of the time people are courteous but when there not I just stick up the proverbial finger to show my appreciation....

If you're anywhere around London forget it. Never found a more "me, me, me" bunch of drivers in the country, but outside most seem friendly enough.

Well I always raise my hand to say thanks. I don't flash, as I often put the windscreen wipers on instead and feel a fool.
