Can anyone help. I have a built in car stereo cassette in my Nissan Micra. Just recently the sounds on the tapes have become very poor i.e. muffled and low. Can anyone please help. To be honest I haven't yet tried a head cleaner will that help.

Head cleaner is always the first thing to try, if that doesn't work time for a new one. IF you can find anyone who will try to fix it the cost will not be worth the difference it would cost to fit a new one.
You can clean the head with a moist (plain boiled water only though) cotton bud.
