Steam cleaning an engine compartment
4 Answers
Been looking at a car this weekend, and under the bonnet is the worst mess and dirt I've ever seen! Is a thorough steam clean ok to do? Can it penetrate electrics or engine bits, or should it just be left alone?

As you refuse to give any details of your car I would advise you not to do it!
If it is a modern car you will kill most of the electronics under the bonnet, the car will never be the same again.
Years ago you could do this because all you needed was a can of water dispersant to clear moisture from the plugs, and points.
