rover 25 speedometer

My speedometer just drops to zero, it has happened twice in the last 2 weeks 10 minutes was the longest until it shot back up to the spped of the car. Whilst at zero the mileage never increased. Any answers. Cheers

prob the speedo cable (if it has one - some cars don't and rely on electrics).

It's illegal to use a vehicle whose speedo isn't registering, so be careful

I will be im gonna get it to a garage on Friday if i can't find out whats wrong. Id rather try and fix it myself instead of paying whatever the garage will charge.

have you heard of time warp continue-eeerms? capt kirk can explain.

if it has a cable drive;

check the speedo cable is fully screwed onto the speedo head and the gearbox end is fitted properly also.

if electric make sure that the wiring plug is firmly fitted on the back of the speedo
