Using it the other night something seemed to 'click' and now it wont change speed setting and will only switch off at the wall.Heat settings and cool thing are both fine.

Is it still safe? Will it be fixed easily, or is a trip to Boots in order?! Thanks

Now I know your just a simple girly, but have you ever thought about opening it up and having a look yourself. Hair dryer opening devices are available from most good hardware shops. Just ask for something called a screwdriver.
Hair driers are so cheap, just bin it and buy a new one. Chances are it will cost you more to repair it...

rosieapple, If it is an expensive hair dryer take it to a qualified tradesman to have a look at, if it is not so expensive just bin it and buy a new one (Unless it is under guarantee of course)

Better to be a simple girl (or guy) than to be a frazzled one!
