laguna replacement cambelt
I have just been quoted 370 by my local Renault dealer for a new cambelt for my N reg 2.0 RT 8V Laguna.
Also another 280 for a service!
How much will I pay at a proper garage?

A good local garage will do the job for a lot less for you.

That sounds far too high for an 8v - you sure you are note being quoted for a 16v - a lot harder to do the cambelt on them. At the end of the day, insurance companies will write a car off if the cost of repairs is greater than 50% of the total value of the vehicle. If you were to consider this arepair, it would make your car a write off really. Service parts including a cambelt should cost no more than 70 and would take about two hours - ate 35/hr, that makes a total of about 140 - that is what I would pay.
