Opinions on Ford Focus / Mazda 3

Just wondering if there are any Ford Focus & Mazda 3 drivers out there? I looked at a VW Golf 1.4 and they seem low spec with a very plastic looking interior, whereas both the Ford and Mazda give me alloys and good interior kit for �9-�10k - but what the reliability and fuel economy like ?

ford and mazdas are very reliable but vw are bent to be the most.

fords drive a lot better than golfs and mazdas, cant help you on fuel eco, depends on how u drive i guess

The Mazda 3 and new generation Ford focus are based on the same chassis and share a lot of their components under the skin. saying that, Each firm has developed their own suspension settings and the cars do ride differently.

I've driven both but my favourite by far is the Mazda, Anyone who says differently obviously has'nt driven one!

As well as that, The interior is nicely finished and equipment levels are very good.
