I'm off on holiday to Burnham OS in june and i plan to go all motorway rather than the back roads.

We'll be leaving 5am saturday and going M23, M25, M4, M5 to junc 22.

Has anyone done this route. Can anyone tell me how long it will take doing 70mph or slightly less.

How long will the M4 stretch take and the M5 stretch take approx.

Many thanks in advance

Go to the RAC route planner

http://rp.rac.co.uk/rp/routeplanner

Put in your start and stop locations and it will give you a map, tell you how far each section is, and give you an idea how long it should take.

According to the route planner, the motorway route is 194 miles and takes 3 hours and 24 minutes.

The non-motorway route is 146 miles and takes 3 hours and 45 minutes.

So going motorway is about 50 miles more, but about 20 minutes less (if you meet no hold ups on the motorway)
