I am loosing water from header tank but can't find from where. I can do a 100 mile drive and loose no water, even after the car has been standing for an hour but overnight 1/2 pint will have gone. There is no water in the oil, no leaks from the radiator. I have added K-Seal coolant leak repair and replaced the radiator cap. The heater rad. seems ok because the windows get steamed up when that leaks. All hoses have been checked and running my fingers around the water pump does not feel wet BUT today shining a tourch on the metal flange under the water pump it did seem wet. Can anyone confirm that I have a water pump that could be leaking when the engine is cold??

It is possible, as the engine cools it contracts and that is when the water pump could leak, the seals in the water pump usually are to blame, if you can get the external drive belt off easily turn the water pump feeling for any roughness or movement meaning the bearings are on the way out.
