Don't know how much for brake cables but get your wheels balanced at any good tyre fitters near you, must be plenty.

dont go to kwik fit tho they will condemn the lot on ur car, do u mean brake pipes? or handbrake cables? of course ur handbrake cables will corrode thats prob just the outer casing that they mean!! if the handbrake is holding fine shud be ok the now, cables around 30-40 quid and if u a wee bit mechanically minded with the haynes manual for the car u can do the cables urself

sorry i meant brake pipes

if ur not sure bout brakes then its best to send it to a garage yea they are easy to do but i do them on a daily basis but brakes are vital to cars so u know u want them done properly so that u are safe shop about the garages do u know wat pipes need done could be able to tell u wat kind of prices/times are involved

i dont im affraid i have had it in the dealership garage and their saying that the cables are corroded and my rear drums and shoes need changing, but i have to took it to 3 other garages and their saying their fine. their is a horrible noise occuring when i brake and you can clearly see the drums are very rusty. it is booked in for another brake check on wednesday but i dont want to be ripped off.

ur drums on the outside will be corroded but thats coz its exposed to rain n salt its the inside that u need to worry bout, ur brakes will prob need a deglaze and adjusted

Question Author
vauxhall mentioned something rubbing on the back plate do you know what they might be on about?

its the plate which the shoes and cylinder sits against which lips round at the top if u take it to a garage and tell em wat u just said they should be able to widen the gap between the drum and the lip of the backplate wen u get them checked
