A heater matrix is just a small radiator with hot water from the engine flowing through it. a fan blows air from the outside or from the cabin which passes through the veins of the heater matrix which is warmed up before entering the cabin.
Radweld will close up any small leaks in a pressurised system but if not used correctly can cause overheating problems by actually blocking the veins in radiators
