hello,

sorry if its been answered before, i couldn't seem to find it.

anyway...

i have a 96 p reg ford galaxy diesel and recently something in the cooling system has started to play up. i've had to chnage the 'hose pipe' (connects the radiator / thermostat / engine) three times! as it just burst and all the water dripped out the leak. the pipe is really three small pipes connected together; one long bit and two angled short bits.

i cant figure out what it is; the pipe is bursting in the same place all the time :- the shortest out of the three connectors is the one that has burst everytime.

i wanna try it myself before taking it to official dealer who'll just drain my wallet!

would appreciate it if anyone can shed some light on this.

thanks

p.s. sorry for the lengthy essay; tried to express as much detail as possible

as the radiator is sometimes lower than the hoses there are sometimes little bleeders bolts in your cooling system, like on top of thermostat housing, and on the hose system at one or two points.normally an airlock will cause you to overheat, before anything goes. i don't like to say but you could have a head gasket issue, cylinder pressure building up in your cooling system until the weakest point goes.also check thermostat, cheapest place to start, may be stuck and not opening properly.
