yes, somebody might like a quick blow.
Been reading Viz lately ? Sounds like one of their 'Top Tips' ;)

A man did this a few years ago.

He was annoyed at cars speeding in his road.

He put his wife's Traffic Warden hat on and stood outside his house with a har drier.

He was arrested by the police and taken to court for impersonating a police office.

Cannot remember the outcome

A similar idea works in my village. A couple of retired gentlemen wear dark tops and high visibility vests on top, and take it in turn to stand on the side of the road outside the village hall. Coming up the road they look like officiers and indeed traffic goes slower.
Or you could put the hairdryer to a much better use by drying your hair with it,and leave us poor motorists alone :-)

You mean us poor motorists who kill over 3000 people EVERY YEAR on our roads (there were 3.221 kiiled in 2004).

That is 10 A DAY

Can you imagine the outcry if 10 soldiers were killed each day in Iraq.

Yet we put up with that number killed every day (on average) on our roads.

By the way, there were also over 30,000 seriously injured in 2004, and 250,000 slightly injured.

veryhelpfulguy, a 2004 report from the DfT showed that excessive speed was actually only came seventh in the top ten of contributory factors in UK accidents, for the record number one was 'inattention'.
