Volvo running lights

In my current V70 I no longer have the facility to disable the running lights. The volvo 'specialist' that I use tells me I will have to go to a main dealer, as it requires the computer..(!)
Anyone had this done, and what was the charge?

We've got one of the new C70's and they switched them off for free for us, but I don't know if they used the computer or what.
