need quick advice
5 Answers
ok, i know this should strictly be in travel but i need advice tonight, and this seems to be the fastest moving bit ... i am going to the seaside tomorrow (hurrah!) and i'd like to go to lullworth cove ...- is the beach accessible to people in wheelchairs? (i dont mean actually rolling the wheelchair across the sand, but i went there when i was little and seem to remember cliffs?? Can you get near the beach by car?
if not, could anyone recommend a bit of seaside within about 2 hours of hampshire/berkshire border that is more accessible?

If you drive a bit further you can come to Weymouth! There are concrete slopes that lead onto the beach- sandy at one end and gravelly at the other. The Esplanade is big and wide and very wheelchair friendly. The view is amazing from the seafront too, even if you don't make it onto the beach.

If you want a good sandy beach in the future that is easily accessible with stacks of parking on a grassy field then I would recommend West Wittering. http://www.westwitteringbeach.co.uk/
thank you for your help. Due to a severe case of over-sleeping, we did not, in fact go to the seaside today :-(
thanks for the weywouth idea, but i think it's just a stretch too far from where we are (newbury area)
I like the west wittering idea, as i have memories of a great camping holiday near there when i was younger
I am cross about having to think of the wheelchair access thing, as this is the first time i've ever had to think about it and it sure is a bummer, and very restrictive it seems! Thanks for all your ideas and website recommendations
