engine management computer!

my friend has a peugot 206 5 years old ,she had a light come on in the dash ,went to peugot and they told her the engine management computer is faulty. it also went in march last year costing �900 to replace,surely it would have lasted more than 17months they are now asking for �800 to repair it this time afterall the car has only done 6k miles in the last year

i would contact PEUGOT and have a word with them it is rediculous that the ECU should go again so quickly there must be something else wrong that is blowing the ECU.

what exactly is the light that comes on ,,on the dash board is it a spanner ??are there any other probs apart from the light on most new cars are checked for faults vis insertin a computer into the fuse bos which determins the fault in most cases as with ECU /'s they send signals to all electrical sensors on the vehicle advise if there are any other faults as i have had 3 or 4 206's and the spanner is usually the main dash light to get rid off which is no problem if thats it
