Expert professional advice wanted, please. My W reg Mondeo has done exactly 50000 miles with regular services. I have also changed the oil and filter at 4 monthly intervals. I am driving to Holland soon. Should I change the cambelt and pulleys etc ?
Ford recommends 10 years or 100000 miles.
I understand the ' better be safe than sorry' bit but I don't want to spend �200+ unnecessarily.

at the end of the day its up to you, you should be ok but if it puts ur mind to rest. are u planning to keep the car for a while ie till its dies??then it mite not be a bad idea to get it done maybe after u get bk?!! just make sure all the obvious things are ok ie bulbs and spares, spare tyre pressures as well as they others and depths ( min 1.6mm across the central 3/4 of the tyre) and so on goodluck
Difficult to give you advice on this one - as the bhoy says, 'It's up to you'. You obviously look after your vehicle well. If you renew the belt and tensioner pulley you can relax for another five years. I wouldn't follow the Ford recommended interval and would probably change it around 70000.
you dont give exact year or engine code. are you sure youve got a belt or is it chain driven?

It's a 2000 reg on a 'W' plate. 2ltr auto with a belt - not chain.
there isnt a 2 ltr ford diesel engine thats belt driven..the only 2 ltr diesel ford engine i know of is the 2ltr duratorq which is chain driven. the only other is the transit 2.5 di
im sorry to disagree david but the 2000 onwards diesel is chain driven. so is the 2.0 ltr petrol. and matey boy never said it was a diesel anyway.
