The only negatives are the gearing which is very short, which means 5th gear always felt like fourth, not ideal if you do a lot of high speed motorway miles, and a big blind spot at the drivers side front which means you regularly hit pedestrians(Joke!)
apart from that I loved it. I would certainly have one again, but I would perhaps go for the diesel version. The only reason I dont have one now is because I need to carry ladders for work and its a bit too tall for easy oading on to the roof rack.

I bought a Renault Espace , new from a Renault dealer and had nothing but trouble, it was back to the dealer continuously with problems culminating with a new gearbox (auto) at just 26,000 on the clock .As the vehicle was bought in 1996 it had just 1 years warranty. The gearbox cost me 1500 to replace and I part exchanged it in2000 for a VW sharan which has been brilliant with a fault free 6 years of use. This experience has put me off Renaults for life.
