A little accident...

I managed to drive into the back of someone the other night. my insurance isn't fully comp so im wondering if anyone will have a clue as to how much it might cost to fix? Its a Ford KA and i think i'm going to need a new panel that goes over the front wheel, all new lights on the front left side and a small dent taken out the bonnet. Oh, and probably a new bumper. Now i've writen it down im realising it could be quite a lot....

My advice would be to take the car into a couple of local independent bodyshop repair garages and ask for a quote from each. It might not seem as expensive as it sounds. Also, if you can, avoid paying for the repairs through your insurance company because then your monthly premiums won't be affected.

I was in a similar situation at the beginning of the year with my Corsa (I had a small collision with a hedge). It needed a new bumper, new wing (the panel over the front wheel), new lights, new fog light, new windscreen, a few dents taken out and repainted. The total bill , paid direct to the garage not through my insurance, was roughly �720.00 which I thought was not too bad.

Well LostSheep you have given me confidence. I have done some weird things in a car over the past 40 years driving but never ended up in a hedge. On a bicycle yes, but not in a car.

Hi, It depends on the year of the Ka, if it's an old one the insurance may write it off especially if you've bent the chassis rails, at arough gues with paint you're prob looking at �1200

hi you could prob get the parts second hand wing �20 headlamp �30 bumper depending on wether its painted or not all three parts about �80 and get one of those mobile dents repair people around to fix the bonnet .You could replace the parts your self with a little time and effort

A word of warning with the Ford Ka, when my hand-break failed last year and my considerably larger Golf rolled into a Ford Ka a few yards away, what appeared to be purely cosmetic damaged turned out to be a quite considerable behind the front bumper.
