ford focus hot bonnet

hi everyone iv just brought a v reg ford focus for my wife and after arriving home ,after picking it up i noticed a slight mark on the bonnet,as i wiped my finger across the mark the heat from the bonnet was red hot.
Now ,today shes been out in the car and the temperature on the bonnet is normal,the only thing that is changed is she has not had the air con on.any ideas

Has the heat proofing come away from the underside of the bonnet? Is the aircon heat exchanger exausting heat toward the bonnet? Is there a hot pipe touching the bonnet?

yeah, check the heat proofing is still there

thanks for your replys,it turns out that the focus has no heat protecton under the bonnet(all focus.s that is)
iv checked out one down the road from me,thats the same ,they must be saving a bit on wieght lol
