There is only one answer I can think of is pure 'one -up-man -ship' and the Krauts must pee themselves laughing at the profit they make out of selling such out of date machinery to such fools. And the stealers make even more putting it right!
Well , it is a free world( not for much longer if TB has his way) and you spend your money as you see fit.
Variety is king

yes i do know that all big motor bikes and a awful lot of cars will just tear away from me at the lights, thats why i dont even bother to even look at them,my question was why do they do it,its beyond me. and yes it is a free world where people buy what they like and 70k,dont be stupid,it is not new,its allways been my dream to own a 911,i will most probably sell it after iv got over my mid life crisis as someone has said, thanks guys, and ward minter, saying my friend, is a term i use to be polite, its a shame you couldent work that one out either, but i suppose thats the story of your sad little life, and why dont you crawl back under the rock you came from and just shut up now.
Answer is in the title fella, its because they are boys. Probably want to show off to all their pals, girlfriends or pitbulls. Pretty much the same reason you got a Porsche - so you can show off. Did you not do the same when you was 17. I used to race everything in my fiat uno because it was fun, it wasnt until a few years later I realised what a nob I looked.

i think your the one who needs help and very badly at that,i dont need to fantasise about grandchildren,i have 3,2 girls and a boy, a lawyer, that is not what i want to be at all,and as for dangerous advise, what the hell are you on about, have you read some of your posts.and you have the nerve to slag mine off, your a very sad, pathectic person, who has to give people verbal abuse whilst hiding behind your own failings as a person, who quite frankly has not got a clue, and as for you having a 911,who made it corgi or matchbox, carry on living in that dream world minter, everybody else on here knows you do.

Ward Minter is right this time - Porsche do tend to make German Crap. I would not call them supercars, they are more a poseurs car for people who would like to dream that they are driving a supercar. The whole of this arguement seems to be that the no-longer-a-boy racer in his porsche gets upset by the boy racer in their peugeot. They are probably of the same breed (otherwise why have the porsche) and the answer is yes it is a macho thing on both parts and yes boy racers can be stupid but so can lots of people who drive crap german cars.

I drive a Pulsar GTiR, which is equipped with uprated turbo, water and N2O injection. It does 0-60 in sub 3.5 seconds.
Quite easily out-accelerating a Porche, most bikes or any car for that matter (Except Ford RS200)
It just goes to show that you don't need to spend 70k on a Porsche to get decent looks and performance.
Hey Norman, if I see you at the lights and you fancy a race - you got one mate!
