"easy park"gadget - how does it work?

I bought a set of car stuff and it had one of these in it. apparently it is an 'easy park' device

it is basically a sort of square of clear plastic with circular ridges in it and a hinge and sticky pad at one end to stick it somewhere in the car.

can anyone tell me what i would do with this and explain how i use it to make parking easier?

When you attach the lens to your rear window it increases your angle of view downwards towards the boot/rear bumper by the refraction (bending) of light.
