Renault megane auto gearbox problem

My renault megane scenic 2.0ltr (8v) 1999 has developed a fault, the gearbox light on the dash came on so i had the oil changed in the gearbox. The light has now gone out but the car still cuts out sometimes when stationary. Nobody seems to be able to help unless the light comes on again and then they will do a diagnostic check. Until now the light has not come on but the problem still occurs and i then have difficulty restarting the car. Has anyone had this problem?

I have the same problem with my wifes Megane Scenic auto. We thought it might be flooding with fuel but after "pumping" the accelerator while trying to start there is no smell of fuel. I wonder if it could be a fuel supply problem. Eventually it starts as if nothing has been wrong...??
