My 1994 2.0i Vauxhall Omega sometimes ticks over from 1500 -2500 revs per min.This can go on for days then everytings ok.Anybody any idea's.Thanks

May be a faulty [worn out] lamda sensor creating havoc with the fuel/air mixture. Not fixable but easily checked by a competent mechanic and a replacement fitted fairly cheaply in minutes. Seems to be a thing with Vauxhalls that have done over 50000 miles.

more than likely a dirty idle control valve. you should remove the hose going to it & spray with carbureter cleaner (if you have a haynes, it should be shown in there .
