It seems to be tricky but does anyone know an easy way to replace the headlight bulb on a 52 plate golf it looks to me you have to have very small hands or work blind going by feel alone

some headlights are quite fiddly, i have two headlight units in a shed at work though, so i'll have a look and see if theres any easy way
I had the same problem on my 99 (T) golf. I managed to change one (with lots of cursing and several cuts!) but when i needed to change the other, my MOT was due so managed to get the garage to do it for me.

I don't think that there is an easy way to get to it without removing the whole unit and you will just have to persevere in the limited space thats there.
To change a nearside bulb the battery needs to be removed, for the offside bulb the washer bottle has to be removed. Once this is done the back of the unit unclips to give access to bulbs. Hope this helps.
