My Vauxhall Cavalier ('93) overheated to the point where I could hear it boiling, took it to a mechanic who after doing some tests said the head gasket needed changing..this also turned out to involve "skimming" as the head? wasn't level. He has now put it all back together but the car is still overheating. He has now stripped it all back down and seems to have checked everything but can find no problems(by the way I have also replaced the thermostat) I know next to nothing about cars and thought someone might be able to think of something he hasn't
Thanks in advance

propeller has come off of the water pump mabe?

or a blocked radiator
Get your radiator pressure tested, it may be blocked and corroded, your garage should be held responsible as he never solved the problem when he gave you the car back after he done the head gasket.
also the head should have been pressure tested before it was skimmed, it could have an internal crack. if it has then it needs to be scrapped and find a good secondhand head from somewhere.
HI Dcam
Is your cooling fan working? From cold, run the engine for a few minuets, switch off, and with the flat of the hand check for cold spots in the radiator, indicating a blockage
The radiator could be blocked, have it checked....
