indicator light

This is a motorbike question but applies to cars as well i guess... My left indicator is flashing much faster than it should, i know that this usually means u need a new bulb...i put a new bulb in and it is still doing it...is the bulb dud or could it be the electrics? I have a DT125, TIA

Here in the U.S., there are two bulbs on each side... one faces forward and one faces aft or rearward. Have you checked both bulbs (if you have them) since they operate from the same junction and if one's bad it could affect that entire side...
according to mot test here in the uk between 60 - 120 flashes per minute is all that is required for indicators
if it is faster than 120 it could be a bulb blown if no bulb is blown then the relay switch might be malfunctioning in witch case it needs to be replaced

Thanks for your replies, guess i should go get my abacus!!
Check that you have the correct wattage of bulb fitted as it is the total resistance in the circuit that controls the flash rate. That is why you have to fit a resistor in the circuit if you fit LED lamps.
