escort clutch

the bite on my clutch on my escort gti is very high but its not slipping when i drive do i need a whole new clutch or a new cable...cheers...wayne

Hi Wayne, you could try putting a couple of washers on the gearbox end of the cable, this would take up slack if the cable has been stretched. The washers would need to have a cut put in to them from the outside to the hole to allow the cable to go in. Hope this helps.
