Hi 2 questions. Would a garage take a car for part exchange if it has no MOT?

Also, I'm after a new car. Mine has just failed its MOT and I'd rather invest in a newer car then shell out on this one.

I have 3000 to spend. I'd prefer something with a low insurance group and low miles but it cant be too small. I play hockey and I have a massive bag to fit into my car. Big boot would be useful or at least seats that fold down.

Thank you in advance.

most garages will take your car but you wouldnt get a lot for it without an mot ,that said it really depends on what sort of car your after and how much the garage whats to get shot of it .Japanese car dealers generally give the best part exchange prices.Vauxhall corsa/ford focus are pretty resonable check out auto trader .
You'd be better to try haggling for a reduction in price for not having a trade-in, then just get rid of your old one privately.
A car without an MoT is practically worthless and you'd be very unlikely to get even a sensible offer for it.
Lots of availability for 3000, nearly all hatchbacks and estates have fold-down seats. It really is just down to personal choice.
I have an Astra estate which suits me fine, but others have been known to pour scorn on my choice.
Good hunting.
