Insurance qustion

My son has his own car and is also insured for mine. He was in an accident driving my car and it is a write off and also the other car is quite badly damaged. Both he and the other driver agreed to go 50/50. Will this claim affect his policy when he goes to re-insure his own car. Our car was a fiesta and 11 years old, any idea how much we will get?

It is not up tp the drvers to agree to go 55/50 it is up to the 2 insurance companies.

You will get what the car is worth on the open market if you refuse the first offer and ask for more.
