Hi all,

My Rev Counter drops to zero from time to time when it rains or I go through a puddle, the car doesn't lose power, but something squeals until after a few seconds the rev counter goes back to normal revs....any ideas anyone. Thanks in advance for any help.

It is more likely to be a problem with the alternator drive belt. Most diesel rev counters are driven by the alternator. It sounds like the you need a new drive belt or you could try adjusting it.

I had a similar problem with my Rover and I had to have a new alternator.
Agreed - it's just the belt slipping, caused by the spray wetting it.

Often can be much improved by just increasing the tension a bit.
