A friend has a 3 year old Megane and cannot open the rear passenger door from the inside or outside. There doesn't seem to be any way of getting at the mechanism without taking off the door trim. And that may not expose anything.
Many thanks for any suggestions.

You'll struggle to get the door trim off with the door shut ! If you can - there will be a plastic film covering holes in the door frame. Peel this back and you should be able to get to the mechanism. very Very tricky if not impossible with the door shut. You could try the old coathanger method to try and open the door - if your successful, then still take it apart and find out whats the matter - it sounds like something could have dislodged in the mechanism.
yea it is possible to get the door card off from inside just a bit awkward for position to work at but yea the do come off and the fault is prob a broken door handle l!!!
