I believe that SnapOn are an American franchise. Each area of the country is allocated to a franchisee who has bought into the company and who has sole operating rights in that area. Each franchisee is provided by SnapOn with all they need to build a business in their area such as a sign-written vehicle, company paperwork, stock etc. SnapOn will therefore only distribute through their franchisees. That means you will have to track down your local franchisee (Yellow Pages etc) and they will come to you. You therefore can't buy new SnapOn products in stores.
I do stand to be corrected on this but I believe that is how SnapOn operate as I looked at a franchise once.
