air lock in water vectra

how do you remove an airlock in the water cooling system on a vectra 1998 ithink it must be air locked as fan doesn't cut in when engine gets hot and temp gauge only goes just over half way up even stuck in traffic although it does come on when car started first thing in morning for a bit. water doesn't seam to circulate as if i remove header tank cap the tank will fill with water and you can hear the water gurgling around pipes. thanks for any help in advance cheers

Don't think theres a fault there as the car normal oporating temp is 86deg the half mark 93.5 deg
The cooling fan on the front wouldn't kick in to 100deg and off again at 92deg,
( this is approx 3/4 of the way up the temp dial )
Any other thoughts post on the following we are always happy to try and help, ( not moding though)
