Please be understanding as this is new to me.... if I brought a satnav system, I assume that it will still work giving directions, without updates, if I do not continue with the monthly subscription? ASDA are selling an evesham Nav-Cam 6200 for 99:00, anybody know if these are any good?

Ihave a Tom tom and it is great if you use it right.I have a feeling you may have to pay for updates but it works fine in most situations without any so don't worry .
most sat navs will work without any up dates. the only reason to load updates is if new roads have been built or roads turned into one way streets.some will have a link cable to your pc so you can load them off the net when required/available. (especially for ones with fixed speed camera locations. ) best to pop into asda and ask to have a look at the instruction book that comes with it to check how updates are handled.
