The first production turbocharged automobile engines came from General Motors. The A-body Oldsmobile Cutlass Jetfire and Chevrolet Corvair Monza Spyder were both fitted with turbochargers in 1962.

I always thought that the bentley speed six's had a turbocharger added around 1930
I think the Bentleys had superchargers. Does the same job, but is driven mechanically by the engine rather than a turbine with the exhaust.
yup bentley had supercharger , first turbo car sold in uk was a bmw2002ti and first british made turbo car was a bristol brigand
