Get the Idle Conrol Valve cleaned and refitted, this should fix it or take advice and get a new one fitted if there is a problem with the seal or it can't be cleaned properly. It should be an inexpensive job. What happens is the unit gets gummed up over time.
thanks very much for you answer, but it cant be that i had a new idle air valve fitted about 4 months ago,and the engine was put on a machine to reset it as it had been jumping like a kangaroo before.since then it has been running ok until this started, being a woman i keep getting ripped off by garages thats why i have posted this so at least i have some idea before i take it again ,so i dont act to thick and they take all my money ,so far i have spent more than the car is worth.
