Touch Up Paint

I have a fairly common colour Ford Focus (Tonic Blue) and have picked up a few nasty scratches. Two things: Can I buy the touch up paint easily enough?, and any tips on how I should go about 'touching it up'!?

Like a lot of people here you do not give the year of your car but if it is a few years old you can usually get the touch up kits from Halfords, if it is newer get it from your dealer.

Using touch up kits of any kind does not make a good job of it though, if the scratches cannot be removed by T cutting then they will always be there. Touch up paint is only a temporary remedy for stone chips to stop rust forming.

A respray is the only way to get the paintwork perfect.

Order the paint from Fords its only a few quid. Once you have it clean the scratch and warm the paint up in a pocket for a few minutes to thin it a bit.
Apply sparingly, the trick is to build up coats leaving a few minutes for the paint to set between goes.
Don't hurry. build to just under the correct level of paint ( for light scratches that will probably be only 1 or 2 coats. Let the paint set for a bit longer and then apply the laquer to slightly over the level of the rest of the paint as it will reduce when drying.
