mondeo 1800 diesel turbo

can someone please tell me where the turbo is on this car,it was a taxi before i had it and the turbo has been turned down,it only does 85 mph foot to the floor and should go faster ..can anyone help please,,Thanks

The Turbo is under the (can't remember the name of it) rectangular metal thing which is placed at the rear centre of the engine, you can't miss it. Just a note, is it struggling to build up speed?, If so have a look at the accelerator cable, I had the same car a couple of years ago, and thought the Turbo had gone on it, the accelerator cable snapped, replaced it the next day and it was fine after that, they have a tendency to stretch, let me know how you get on.

Sounds like most ex-taxi cars just a little tired:) But also could be a number of things like split turbo hoses etc, but I doubt it

Had the same problem 8 years ago. Turned out to be turbo hoses, got them replaced and she went like a dream.

thanks for any answers offered,its raining and dark now but i will be out first thing in morning checking the hoses etc dawn
