4x4 Which one is best?

Which 4x4 can tow the most weight? At the moment we are leaning towards a LWB Pajero or Shogun. Used not new. Probably LPG. Anyone got one that is actually used as a towing vehicle and not just for the school run? Are you happy with the performance? What probs (if any) have you had?

a toyota landcruiser 4.2td would be probably best, but overall nothing comes close to a vw toureg v10 tdi, a pajero will pull better than a shogun -the shogun mk1 and 2 tds are very slooooow ........

Used to tow a horsebox complete with 2 horses with a Nissan 3.0 V6 .
