A cd has got stuck in my car stereo. it seems to be stuck on a track and i cannot eject it. it has an envelope slot and usually the cd pops out when i press a button. i bought the cd second hand on e-bay and am worried it has ruined my cd player. My car is a rover 25.
if you have the cd player anti theft code i suggest taking the fuse for the stereo out of the fuse box for a minute then putting it back in, then input your code and try again to eject cd if that does not work it is more than likely that your cd player is faulty which is not caused by second hand cd's just a coincidence.
hi if you need to take out the fuse as allclaret suggested then dont worry if u dont have stereo code just post your serial number of the stereo on here which will mean taking out your stereo to get it unfortunately and i will give you the code. good luck and merry xmas
I usually find that a thin-bladed knife used as a lever in the cd slot works a treat ... but I am not keen to recommend it as a ruined cd is sometimes the result...
Another method you might want to consider if you're not keen on sticking a knife in there is a credit card or similar.
I let the disc play then put the card in and 'feel' for the disc. Press eject and simultaneously lever up the disc with the card. Make sure that you bring the card out when the disc starts to move or you may damage the head unit.
Hope this helps.
p.s. if the disc stuck was the Crazy frog then I suggest removing the head unit altogether and burn the whole thing. :)
