I have an 02 Renault Cio 1.2 and when driving home It just seemed to lose any thought of get up and go and a warning light (which I found was the toxic emissions light) began to flash constantly. When Idling the whole car seemed to be chugging. Do you have any idea what could be causing this, and do I need to do anything inorder to get the car to a garage safely.

9/10 in Renault Clios, poor running at idle and lack of power means a coil has gone. they are about �35 each + fitting.
