peugeot 106

My peugeot 106 (v reg) will run smoothly, but then suddenly start over revving which then causes kicking whilst im driving along. Then suddenly it will clear and drive smoothly again. Does anyone know what the problem may be?

My mother had the same problem with her 106 which turned out to be an air leak in the intake manifold. The leak can either be caused by gasket failure (if it has a gasket) or faulty pressure sensor.
Both are relatively cheap to correct.
