I live in a private residential housing estate, of which there is one main road that runs through the estate.Locatated of the main road there are small adjoining cul-de-sacs with around 5 - 7 houses in each. Within the cul-de-sacs there are three additional parking spaces.Could anyone tell me if these spaces are reserved for the properties in the cul-de-sac or if people on the main road are entitled to use our street as their second parking space.They are also now parking on the grassed area around the bays making it difficult for us to park in our own street.
I doubt if anyone can tell you other than the tenants' association or management company or whatever you have to manage the estate and its roads.
The 'rules' will be different for each estate. My guess is thay are intended for visitors to the cul de sac but intention is one thing, reality is another.
Well - it has been stated in law that nobody has the right to park outside their own home - unless causing an obstuction, so, in effect, anyone can park wherever they like. With us, the parking spaces are subject to 'residents permits' but it may be worth looking into that.
That's on public roads, Scotman - OP is on a private estate where they can make their own rules - including excluding Joe Public from driving through at all if they wish.
See your title deeds. The first deed after house built (Lease or Transfer/Conveyance) should contain plan, not only to identify what was sold but also to show easements/parking space allocation/etc.
