Hi there, I have just been down in my grandad's house and something very strange is happening. When he turns on the water anywhere in the house the lights in the house dim. when he flushed the toilet you can really notice it. It's almost like being in a disco!! the lights flicker until the systrine is full again. The house is about 60 years old but it has been rewired in recent years. anyone got any ideas?? thanks a mill Mick

Mick I am no expert but it sounds to me as though the electricity system may be sometimes passing power through the waterpipes..erm how can I put this was the rewire done by a professional or an amateur?? I reckon your grandad should get this checked out pronto
in many houses the plumbing is used as an electrical earth. if this is the case your grandad has an earth leakage in his house. he should immediately call an electrician and turn off the power. if serious enough these things can kill.
