we are being told to empty our tanks regardless of any contamination and re fill with fuel but does anyone know where it is safe to fill up as it does not give this info in the news.

I think the recommendation is to use a good quality fuel such as BP Ultimate (available in Diesel and petrol).

I use this about every three fills and the difference is noticeable. Also, because of the extra detergents it is much better for your engine.
They said on the news tonight that if the petrol was contaminated, then it's likely the whole batch would have been used by now. So hopefully the petrol at the stations is safe to use now.

I filled my car in Asda on Saturday and two people were on the news saying that is where they bought their petrol and their cars are up the creek. (same branch of Asda). Lucky or what.
