Fiat Diesel problem

1.9 JTD loosing more and more power. It is running cool and generating some dark smoke sometimes. MPG has gone up! That may be 'cos I can't thrash it now.
I think maybe piston rings but I've had loads of other theories from amateur mechanics! Any more please.

there's no boost in ur turbo
without further info i'd say its not working

Thanks, I'll have a look at that.

If the engine managment system detects a fault within the system they can go into limp mode wich will limit the power and the max rev's will only be 3000, also air flow meter's are a common problem on these, they will not show any faults in the system and can also limit the rev's to about 3000
