Pollen filter Housing Mk 3 Mondeo

I need to re-seal my pollen filter housing .I removed the torx head screews that hold the cowling down and the plastic plug,but ithe cowling seems to be in some sort of grove near the windscreen,what i dont want to do is force it and break something .Any ideas on its safe removal and re-fitting.
